About My Teaching Assistant

An AI essay grader built around the way teachers actually work

My Teaching Assistant started with a problem every teacher knows: a stack of essays, a rubric you wrote yourself, and not nearly enough hours in the weekend to give every student the detailed feedback they deserve. Generic AI tools make you copy-paste and prompt-engineer. Turnitin requires an institutional contract. We wanted something a single teacher could sign up for in two minutes and start using immediately.

Upload your assignment prompt or rubric once. Drop in PDFs. The AI reads each essay against your exact criteria and writes criterion-by-criterion feedback for every student. The whole class finishes in the time it would take you to read the first two essays yourself.

We support PDF, DOCX, and Apple Pages files. Batch upload lets you submit an entire class at once. Enable letter grading on any assignment to also receive A-E scores and an overall percentage per essay. And every review is logged so you always have an audit trail.

What you get

  • Criterion-by-criterion written feedback for every student, based on your rubric, not a generic one.
  • Key takeaways that highlight the strongest points and the areas most in need of improvement.
  • Optional letter grades (A-E) and an overall percentage per essay when you need a score, not just feedback.
  • Batch upload so you can submit an entire class at once and walk away.
  • Copy or export any section with one click, or download the full review as a DOCX file.
  • AI writing signal as a rough indicator of AI-assisted writing. Not a verdict: just a signal worth reviewing.

Feedback is AI-generated. Your judgment still matters.

My Teaching Assistant is an AI tool, not a replacement for your professional expertise. The feedback it produces may contain errors, miss context, or fall short of what a careful human reading would catch. Always apply your own judgment before sharing any feedback with students. Use it to save time, not to skip the thinking.
